The Valentino collection Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli created was amazing. The original Red color wasn't spotted in the collection, and replaced by nude and softer colors. There was much chiffon, laces and very chic sandals. I loved the Spring Collection for Valentino, hope you guys do too!

Daria Werbowy! She might be...my new favorite model, She has a odd but beautiful face that isin't just a stereotypical "pretty" girls face. Shes also from Poland which you can see in her face. This editorial from March 2010 U.S. Vogue is amazing. I like the toughness and mystery of it. I love the leg paintings and the cornrows, it's not like some editorials that I see that are just missing the "it" factor. But it's beyond the modeling and styling also, the photography. It is COMPELLING! This is definitely one of my most FAVORITEIST editorials ever!

Not Last Nigh But the Night Before...

I was at the Alicia Keys Elements of Freedom concert tour Saturday night. And let me say it was AMAZING. Alicia Keys for one, is a great singer. Did I mention she also plays the piano? And write all her songs? Oh and she alright with her body meaning, no boob implants or nose jobs or plastic surgery. OF. ANY. KIND. :)

I wish I was still there! The experience was great and welcoming. It was at the Fox Theatre in Detroit which is an amazing place by itself but with Alicia it was like a fairytale came true.

She wore 4 outfits throughout the whole show. The first one was a green army jacket and black shirt with sequined leggings that let me say, looked GORGEOUS on her! The second was a black mini-dress with detailing at the shoulder, I think there were chains and pearls on it. The third outfit was a white, whimsical floor-length gown that looked like something Mariah Carey would wear...of course in a GOOD WAY! The last outfit was actually the gown either cut to shirt length or somehow made shorter paired with skinny jeans.

The crowd was also dressed up, mostly women wearing halter-mini-dresses that were way to small...but they were having a good time so I can't beat on them too hard. I wore a Custo Barcelona dress that had the coolest print on it...EVER! Well, don't kill me for saying this but check out Custo Barcelona because he is sort like Emilio Pucci, he has the cool prints and dresses and everything but his dresses are very reasonably priced. And please don't get me wrong I love Pucci it's just wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy (infinity) too expensive.
Well...I guess that's fashion...

Spring/Summer Sandals!

I got these amazing sandals at Urban Outfitters. There was a HUGE sandal sale last summer, and I was downtown. Well, I saw these and instantly fell in love. I had to get them, because they are gold and I love all the fancy straps! They were originally, $39.99 but I looked online before I went and found them on sale for $20.00! So when I told them, they let me buy these for the sale amount! Urban Outfitters accepts online sales, so try checking sometime!

Im so excited for Spring and Summer! I bought these shoes in December at Pacsun (Pacific Sunwear) for just $2.00! Yepp, thats what you earn when you shop for sandals in the middle of Winter. My friend also got a pair, and I just cant wait to wear these around! To bad it isn't warm enough yet..

SPRING IS COMING...ALONG WITH THE SUN!

After my last post the Mr. Heat Miser must have been watching because today sure felt like SPRING! It was warm and the sun was out, it was gorgeous. I took this picture walking home from school to show you how sunny it was!

I personally think tree silhouette are some of the most beautiful things ever! This is a tree from my neighborhood that always inspires me. Yes, I do get inspiration from trees! :)

This is just a simple outfit I wore to school which I surprisingly got a lot of compliments on! From my friends and teacher and even lunch supervisors. I tried to be Spring-y with the light green sweater with the pink butterfly on it. I don't think it translated too well but maybe next time it will...

My friend calls this my "LADY GAGA" jacket because of the so called "crazy" shoulders which aren't even that crazy but I still love this jacket to death! It's velvet and it's incredibly soft. I also adore that it's double-breasted, I love double-breasted jackets.

The necklace I picked up yesterday at a local boutique called Poshh (can be found at poshh.com) and was quite cheap. It was only $25!! I love all the different layers and I thought it would go with a lot of clothes. The boutique also have beautiful clothes I got a Custo-Barcelona dress (pic's will be posted Sun. because of an even happening on Sat.) and I have a Nu by Mark Anthony shirt from there too. It's one of my favorite stores to look around in.

On Sunnday I got some awesome news, I'M GOING TO AN ALICIA KEY'S CONCERT THIS SATURDAY! She is one of my favorites and always has been. It was a surprise and I'm going with my two best friends and my mom and one of their mom's.

"Jumble-y Jumble-y!"

With spring coming and winter leaving I am getting excited...UNTIL...

Well, this is Michigan and you can't expect anything for winter, that is anything except 6 months of winter. So it was getting warm (on Sunday) and then OF COURSE, giant snow storm and I wouldn't be surprised if I measured almost 2 feet of snow outside.

Anyways, back to this blog. I haven't blogged in a while... (it's not like anyone really reads it anyways...) SORRY!!! And I have collected a couple pictures and things for whoever DOES want to read this blog to look at. So here we go; starting with Feb. 18th

Going out with a friend, my best friend actually! We were messing around...but the point is my neck. Not literally my neck but my necklaces, I think I have on...5? Anyways a LOT! I got so many compliments and it inspired me for a photo coming up!

I began sewing a couple years ago...or maybe it was only last year...I have a terrible memory. I usually take sewing classes but I decided to do this project at home which mostly worked out. I didn't do the zipper or shoulders which confused my crap! I have to say the turnout of the project actually looks good and once it's completely finished I will be sure to post a picture.

I have also been working hard to make this bib-style necklace. I would LOVE someday for that to be my paying job but for now, at home, in my room, it can be my hobby. I thought it turned out pretty nice. Those are "black diamond" crystals and freshwater pearls in brown, red and green. And bugle beads at the top.

Someone To Look Out For: Alan Ardiff

He is a very innovative and modern jewelry designer. He is for sure on my list of favorites! He is based out of Ireland, In Dublin and he first started debuting his jewelry in 1994. Since then he has only gone up! See, not only do I love the idea of the work but he very passionate about it too. The idea of his pieces is movement! Most of his pieces move. For example "From The Heart", the heart swivels around in circles when the chain moves. The only thing that stops me from getting a piece (though I have tried many on...) is the $$! They range from $100 earrings to $600 intricate necklaces.

Project Runway Challenge:

The latest Project Runway challenge was one of the biggest in its history, in terms of the reward and pressure. The designers were asked to create a cover look for Marie Claire's April issue. And the cover model? Heidi Klum! As you can imagine, the designers got very stressed in this competition. Funny Anthony won the challenge, I was happy about it. I thought it was a perfect match for Heidi, Anthony nailed it. All the judges, including guest judge and editor of the magazine Joanna Coles, loved it. Do you?

Looking back to the 1920's, 30's, 40's and 50's is so refreshing to me. I love the flapper styles of the 20's, The feminine-ness of the 30's, The glamour of the 40's and the full skirts of the 50's. I would like to share with you my favorite pictures and people of these times.
Starting off with the 1920's
Barbara is in one of my favorite holiday movies, Christmas In Connecticut!! Love it. Watch it. Re-Watch it.

I love these women, looking at this picture inspires me. From the shoes to the low-waist dresses and headbands I love the 1920's flapper style.

The dramatic look has always been a favorite of mine. Here; I think this speaks for itself. BEAUTIFUL.

Saddle Shoes back in style

The '50s saddle shoe style back in style, many brands are going for it Vans twisted it up to look more like a skater sneaker, and Urban Outfitters completes the look of the saddle shoe by introducing leather. The heel-plus-shoe really twists up the shoe for more a "formal and daring esque". I like the shoe, but its very hard to pull off for people on the street, more of a model look.

Lady Gaga inspired shoes to hit the streets this spring, some collections were inspired just on her! She's a pretty big fashion icon to many designers who are looking for something "different". When I first saw the video to Bad Romance, I thought the curvy high shoes Lady Gaga had on were pretty cool, and Aine thought they were awesome too. Some of her outfits are so outrageous, I guess she's not afraid to stand out!

My Favorite Perfumes :)

Peach Champagne, its cute and portable! Got this from Urban Outfitters from a friend for Christmas. (It is a roll on) has a very natural smell, probably about $13-$15.

This is something that is great for just going out with friends, PINK's Sweet & Tart body mist. They sell many other kinds! Got it for about $20 with a friend :)

This is my very favorite perfume, by Aquolina. Pink Sugar Perfume, Eau De Toilette Spray, I got it for about $50 for my birthday but I am positive you can get it for cheaper.

"Jimmy Choo For Ugg? F*** THAT!"

I'm going to tell you a story; A fashionista was browsing Yahoo Answers and came across a question about Jimmy Choo and Ugg. She thought it was a pretty funny joke until she looked it up and found out it was true. :| They said word for word, "What's next, Christian Louboutin for Crocs?"

Yeah...I don't really know what to say. Right now I feel kind of sick to my stomach and like I might want to go barf on my friend's UGG's and then do it again. Anyone who knows anything about fashion knows Ugg's aren't "cute". They are a complete fashion crime.
Jimmy Choo, such a renowned designer, such gorgeous shoes. Don't you think they had to work up to that status? Well, I happen to think they did. It's too bad the Prez. of Jimmy Choo, Tamara Mellon, didn't screw on her head that day. This is being showcased in October 2010 in Vogue UK. The prices are staring at 495 EURO. Which is like $750 here. I could find a lot nicer, cuter, MORE GORGEOUS shoes here for much less then that.
I am so utterly disappointed it is beyond words!

Jewelry...it is my love, my life and I think what can really make the outfit. What will bring it to life! These are my top 11 pieces.

My first string of pearls and boy do I love them.

There is a local store called “The Bead Gallery” around where I live and that is where I got this beautiful swarovski and pearl mixed necklace.

SABA. Sorta like ABBA with one B...and an S. I believe she has some of the most beautiful jewelry in the world. She lives in Ireland and all the pieces are handmade there!

This necklace I got from my friends for my birthday although...I picked it out. I would strongly recommend Novica where they got it for me.

Ahhhh...my charm bracelet. I've been collecting for about 8 years now. I have somewhere around 30 charms. I think it's time to get a new bracelet!

No, they are not real gems! Hah. I'm pretty sure they are plastic but I adore this necklace because it transforms the right shirt from pretty to gorgeous.

Another TJ-MAXX find. I have to say, they can have absolutely beautiful jewelry! It's cheap and pretty.

My name which starts with an A is one of my favorite parts about me. This necklace is so beautiful and classic, that's why it's on my top list.

I think it's super cute and I just like it! I am very and truly Irish so all the knot-work is actually quite symbolic.

This is a must in my jewelry box. The Claddagh Ring is a highly symbolic piece meaning love, (the heart) loyalty (the crown) and friendship (the hands). If you wear the ring upside-down it means your single (or your heart is not taken) or if you wear it right-side up you are in a relationship (or your heart is taken). I love this ring with all heart.

This is a pearl ring I had been searching for since last summer. I had a craving and was not content until I knew I had what I wanted. I got this one from TJ-MAXX and a steal for $25; (I'm really cheap and it was originally about $100)

Looking Back at America's Next Top Model Season 13 - part 2

Alta Moda is a blog run by two very driven girls; Eva (13) and Aine (14). It started January 3th 2010 as a new year's resolution to "break-into" the fashion world. We live in the small city of Ace Deuce, Michigan where fashion is not a main subject.
Who knows where this will lead us. Maybe this will open doors that will open doors that will lead us to Paris in 2015 to intern at Louis Vuitton.
